Toler’s abstracts communicate a clear and interesting message of media diversity, compositional competence and design tension. Focusing on these abstract works of art provide an overarching overview of both horizontal and vertical underpinnings. The shapes and colors pull the viewer out of the ordinary personal realm and invite the viewer to go deeper, discovering depths that await within—unexplored, dramatic, and restless. Going beyond what is comfortable Toler’s art moves a viewer into what is visually pulsing and infused with power, to be unloaded into a psychic crevasse where burdens, reckless suffering and pain can be unloaded. These abstract designs map out aspects of an inner psychological constitution, freeing itself from constricting boundaries and letting go of worn out ideas, opening up to innovate inner structures that will soon be called “home”.
